“Urumqi” originated from the ancient Junggar language, meaning “Beautiful Pasture”. It is a major town on the north path of the ancient Silk Road, juncture place of the Western and Eastern economies and cultures, and joining place of the cultures of the Central Plains and the Western Region. It has Turpan-Hami oilfield in the east, Tarim oilfield in the south, East Junngar oilfield in the north, and Karamay oilfield in the west. Meanwhile, it has a reserve of underground coal over ten billion tons and the coal seams available to exploit have a thickness of 80 meters, hence called “A Coal City on the Oilfield”. the downtown has the famous “Eight Scenic Spots” including the Red Hill, Lake Jian, Yuewei Cottage Notes，and tourist destinations such as Nanshan Mountains Scenery Area.
