Festivals and ceremonies

The main festivals of ethnic minorities in Muslim in Xinjiang are Corban Festival and Balram . On occasion of these festivals, Uyghur men will enthusiastically dance along with strong rhyme of with drums and sonar. Other brother nationalities have their own festivals and ceremonies. Every year, Kazakh people will hold the “”Nawluz” festival around the spring equinox; Mongolian people “Nadam ” Fair during July and August every year; Xibo people “the Eighteenth of April” Western Migration Day and “Face Blackening Day” on lunar January 16; Tajik people “Spring Seeding Festival ” and two days of “Parot Festival” (Lamp Festival) one month before fasting; another “Saban Festival” (Saban is the name of a plough), also called “Plough Festival” of Tatar people.

Xinjiang International Automobile Industry Exhibition is a leading one on the biggest scale with most branded vehicles in the northwestern region, also an international one with the largest scale in the Central Asia.

Xinjiang International Coal Mining Industry Exhibition is a major activity of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, also one of the two large coal industry exhibitions of Asia.
